You heard me right people! The hit disco music group Village People will be in Star Wars: The Force Awakens! More details of their involvement after the jump…

As Jason Ward of MakingStarWars.net previously reported, the Village People will be a part of the upcoming Star Wars film. Felipe Rose (the native American) and Alex Briley (the G.I./sailor) are the two Village People who will bring their skills as both singers and accomplished cosplayers to The Force Awakens. Unfortunately, other group members were not available for shooting, so their roles were filled by understudies.

Rose will be dressed as a tame Tusken Raider, while Briley will be an off-duty Imperial Admiral. They will be appearing in a cantina scene as a group of drunkards singing karaoke.

Joining them on stage will be Warwick Davis as a swoop bike rider, Domhnall Gleeson as an off-duty Stormtrooper, Harrison Ford as a bantha wrangler, and Pip Andersen as a construction worker. You won’t be able to tell they are Davis, Gleeson, Ford, and Andersen due to their costumes/makeup/facial hair hiding their faces.

More than likely you won’t even realise that they are the “Village People” but I guess this is JJ’s idea as a joke seeing as he is a HUGE Village People fan.

Keep your eyes peeled for them folks! Y.M.C. Yay!
