Confirmed! Hayden Christensen is Darth Vader in Rogue One!
We here at Faking Star Wars have just been given the go ahead to reveal that Hayden Christensen is reprising his role of Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. After the jump discover the details on what’s sure to be one of the main draws for the upcoming spinoff!
The actor received poor reviews from critics and fans alike for his performance in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, but faired slightly better reviews for his reprisal in Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. While he only wore the Dark Lord of the Sith’s iconic suit for only a few moments in Episode III, he will be returning to don the armor again.
Faking Star Wars was sent only the photo below along with a written statement from Lucasfilm, confirming that Hayden is 100% reprising his role as Darth Vader in Rogue One slated for a winter 2016 release.
Fans didn’t react all that well to the over all performance of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader portrayed by Hayden Christensen in the prequel trilogy. The fan backlash over his “whiney teenager” acting has been a constant on various fan sites.
