Bad Robot Deletes Star Wars / Batman Tweets
SANTA MONICA, CA — With Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice garnering terrible word of mouth among early audiences and an even colder reception from professional critics, Bad Robot – J.J. Abram’s production company – has begun to distance themselves from director Zack Snyder and his underwhelming film.
In a calculated move, the social media team at Bad Robot has quietly deleted the Star Wars/Batman tweets from August, 2014. The posts consisted of a playful Twitter war between directors Abrams and Snyder, who took turns mashing up the Star Wars and DC universes in a game of one-upmanship. Each of these back-and-forths managed to successfully drum up excitement for The Force Awakens and Batman v Superman. Now that only one of the two films has delivered a quality product, however, Bad Robot would like the Internet to forget the tweets ever happened.
It remains to be seen whether Snyder follows suit and deletes his posts as well. Insiders claim the vocal Snyder may up the ante and take a break from social media altogether a la Joss Whedon in the wake of controversy surrounding The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
