J.J. Abrams Featured on Hamilton Mixtape Hidden Tracks

Hamilton Mixtape J.J. Abrams

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY – FSW managed to acquire a review copy of the eagerly anticipated Hamilton Mixtape, and fans of Shag Krava have much to look forward to. In addition to a who’s who of hitmakers such as Alicia Keys, John Legend, Usher and Wiz Khalifa, the offshoot album also features two hidden tracks by J.J. Abrams (exclusive to the iTunes deluxe album). In the words of our seasonal “wintern” LeShawn, “Dem tracks is straight fire dey lit AF.”

The first of the two songs reunites Shag Krava — the Huttese power pop duo made up of Abrams and multitalented Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda. On Jabba Flow (Goes HAM Remix), the pair indeed go “Hard as Moofmilkers” with a slightly sped up tempo and new rhyming verses that attack the beat.

But Abrams spreads his wings even further on A One Two Three — a solo cover-sequel to the hip-hop classic A One Two by Biz Markie. Abrams, credited as Miz Barkie, both raps and beat boxes on the track. While most of the track is a word-for-word cover, during the bridge of the 4-minute “heater” (thanks, LeShawn) however, Abrams does layer in the voices of Steven Spielberg and George Lucas for a spoken word effect that manages to achieve what can only be described as nostalgic originality.

While both tracks by Abrams are exclusive to the iTunes deluxe version of the album, FSW recommends seeking it out for the sheer novelty of it all. We’re far from a music reviews website, so we’ll refrain from rating the Hamilton Mixtape. But let’s put it this way: we’ve had in on repeat for 24 hours now at the office and our mobile headquarters.
