Rob Liefeld Leaks Full Title To Solo Spin-off

Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld let slip the full title to the next Star Wars spinoff in a tweet storm last night. According to the self-taught comic book artist, the film will not be known as Solo as most media outlets have been reporting. Rather, the Lord & Miller & Ron Howard-directed film will be formerly known as Jan Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Why the bait and switch? We reached out to a reliable source (who happens to be one of Liefeld’s go-to foot models — small world) for additional insight.

“After the Last Jedi backlash because of Rey being a Mary Sue and every other woman being strong and heroic role models, while the men were losers, Disney had to re-think their Jan Solo marketing. The problem is the spinoff was already in the can, and it was too late to change anything based on what they learned. So they decided to hide the full name and just go with Solo to avoid further upsetting an already pissed off fan base.”

Our spy also revealed Disney hid the name of Emilia Clarke’s strong heroine character under two layers of obfuscation. In the packaging for toys based on the film, she’s listed as Qi’Ra but in reality that’s a nickname given to her in the film. Her real name is Jan Solo and she just so happens to be Han’s long-lost twin sister. That may explain why she’s not Han’s love interest in the film.

According to our source, Han and Lando both fall for Jan (before Han realizes they’re related, of course) but she’s much more interested in the older, wiser nerfherder Tobias Beckett played by Woody Harrelson. We’re told Jan has a much bigger role than Han similar to how Mad Max: Fury Road relegated Max to a glorified cameo while Imperator Furiosa was the true lead. Most controversial of all, however, is the revelation that Jan — not Han — actually pilots the Millennium Falcon when it makes the Kessel Run in under 12 parsecs. Han simply takes credit for his sister’s accomplishment. He even steals some of her quips. At one point in the movie, Beckett is about to be killed by the Immortan Joe-like villain Moloch when Han’s mentor figure tells Jan he loves her. She replies, “I know” and Han is seen jotting it down on a napkin.

Why haven’t we heard of this Jan Solo before? We can only assume its because she’s going to die a hero in the movie, but not before teaching Han, Chewie and Lando valuable lessons in gender equality, diversity, the dangers of gambling, and the beauty of May-December romances.

Thank you for the unintentional scoop, Rob Liefeld! And thanks to our reliable source for providing additional spoilers.
