JJ Abrams Hasn’t Been Home Since Rise of Skywalker Production Began

According to our on-set spy, JJ Abrams has not been home since Rise of Skywalker production began. Aside from when Abrams was away at Star Wars Celebration and D23, the writer/director/producer has slept in the editing bay and bathed in Pinewood Studio’s water set every night so he can constantly work on the final film of the Star Wars Skywalker saga.

Even when Abrams took time off to work on the Spider-Man comic with his son Henry, they worked in the Pinewood Studios lunch room. We were able to speak with Abrams’ wife Katie McGrath regarding JJ not sleeping in the same bed with her for nearly two years.

JJ has to stand on the Mystery Box to try and be as tall as his wife Katie.

“Yeah it’s been rough not having JJ at home, but I’m a busy woman too. I’m rarely in our studio apartment over Bad Robot in Santa Monica anyway.”

There are some who aren’t happy with JJ always being at Pinewood, including the custodial staff. Lead janitor Dan Lawrence is sick and tired of bumping his vacuum into JJ’s head as he sleeps on the floor and picking up all the Chinese takeout pizza boxes left by Abrams that litter the hallways.

Luckily for Danny boy, JJ will be moving back home soon as The Rise of Skywalker releases in less than two months.
