Breaking! Disney in Talks to Purchase Nintendo!
“Mickey and Mario sitting in a tree… N..E..G..O..T..I..A..T..I..N..G” We’ve caught wind that Disney wants to add Nintendo to its money-printing empire. More after the double jump butt stomp.
Breaking news: according to our uncle who works at Nintendo, Disney CEO Bob Iger recently visited the Kyoto headquarters of Nintendo for a secret meeting Satoru Iwata, CEO of the big N. Iger is said to be interested in adding muscle to Disney’s interactive division, which has been bleeding money for years now without a genuine success.
Meanwhile, Iwata and Nintendo are riding high at the moment, following recent announcements detailing its first foray large foray into mobile phone gaming as well as a mysterious new piece if hardware called Nintendo NX. News of these developments sent the company’s stock through the roof, as investors have been pressuring the company to go mobile for years now.
We’re told the talk between Iwata and Iger was very fruitful as the pair share many hobbies. Iger is said to have even shown his fellow CEO the upcoming full trailer to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, that will premiere on April 16th at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim.
Iwata was very excited by the footage and very complimentary over Disney’s handling of its new IPs, specifically Marvel and Star Wars. He also let slip that a rumor about Netflix producing a Legend of Zelda live-action series is false though Iger is interested in making it happen similar to how Marvel is producing Daredevil, A.K.A. Jessica Jones, etc. Iwata went on to say, “私はそれでダウンしてんだ!” or in Galactic Basic, “I’m down with that!”
Iger sweetened the potential deal said to be worth 20 billion by walking Iwata through proposed plans for a real-life Nintendo Land.
That’s what we know for a fact so far, but it’s time for some healthy speculation. Speaking of health, where does Nintendo’s third pillar device fall into this? Iwata has been hard at work on a QOL device… Quality of Life, said to be a non-wearable. We can’t help but think this may be based on Nintendo’s Vitality sensor technology. Toss in the fact that QOL sounds a lot like QUI-GON, could we be looking at a real-world midichlorian counter?
We’re also wondering how a purchase would impact the Disney Infinity and Nintendo amiibo line of interactive figures. Infinimiibo? Sounds like something Thanos would want.
Lastly, with the Mushroom Kingdom potentially coming to life in the form of a dedicated theme park called Nintendo Land, can Star Wars Land be far behind?
Stay tuned fake believers! More on this story as it develops!
