Exclusive: Jake Lloyd Threatens to Sue Over Proposed “Duel of the Fists”

Recently Jason Ward of MakingStarWars and Viral Hide of StarWars7News had a dramatic falling out. The matter quickly escalated, and the former friends have agreed to settle their differences the old fashioned way — by slap fighting each other in the parking lot at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim. But not if Jake Lloyd and lawyers don’t land a KO first. Find out what Jake’s beef is after the jump.

Jason Ward and Viral Hide have a love/hate relationship. Both run Star Wars fan sites, which oftentimes complement each other. Jason owns Making Star Wars (based on Faking Star Wars), while Viral operates StarWars7News, which has a robust messageboard named The Cantina. Perhaps too robust, as a thread dedicated to discussing Jason and his scoops, has recently become a haven for hatemongers who hold a grudge against Ward. As much as The Cantina mods enforce a strict “address the post, not the poster” policy, many members simply have it out for Jason. This led to some very heated exchanges on the board, which resulted in Viral banning Jason from The Cantina. Jason quickly turned to Twitter to fire shots of his own.

Not long after, the frenemies decided to settle their differences mano-a-mano in a fight to be held in the parking lot at Star Wars Celebration. According to a homemade flyer our source managed to obtain, “Duel of the Fists” is set for 3 rounds of championship slap boxing between Jason “The Beat” Ward and Viral “Raw” Hide.

News of the proposed fight spread like wild fire throughout the uber-nerd underground and Darknet. As soon as Jake Lloyd caught wind of it on 4chan, he had his lawyers send both parties a stern warning. The prequel star is threatening to sue Jason and Viral if “Duel of the Fists” interferes with Parking Lot Celebration, a mini convention being held by Jake in his van-turned-pod-racer outside the Anaheim Center.

But there’s a new hope, fight fans! We’re told Jake has offered to Jason and Viral a compromise. In exchange for half of all “Duel of the Fists” ticket sales, and the honor of refereeing the fight, Jake is prepared to let the event take place as planned.
