“Star Wars Kid” Returns to Cameo in The Force Awakens!

Ghyslain Raza, also known as the “Star Wars Kid”, was recently confirmed to be playing an extra in the newest installment in the franchise. After the spinny Darth Maul jump, we reveal all the glorious details.

Not only is “Star Wars Kid” appearing briefly in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but he also helped choreograph a few of the fight scenes. The viral sensation’s participation in the upcoming film is squarely aimed at raising awareness of his anti-bullying campaign.

Raza’s fight choreography was recently released via unofficial channels. Despite the video clip having been shot on VHS, Star Wars fans ate it up and the original Ebaum’s World Allstar was right back in the viral video limelight. In the video, “Star Wars Kid” displayed considerably improved saber since his golf ball retriever debut.

Raza also doubled for Toby Maguire
as Emo Spiderman during dance numbers.
JJ Abrams was so impressed with the lightsaber waggler’s community work that he reached out to Raza, now 29 and asked him to cameo in a small yet pivotal scene.  When JJ saw Raza’s new moves in action he had no choice but to open his mystery box wide and allow him to have free range inside while on set.

Furthermore, JJ decided to write the “Star Wars Kid” into the script to give him some backstory involving a new Jedi fighting style called the drunken master.  We here at Fakingstarwars can’t wait to see what Raza has whipped up for us this December.   We also felt inclined to donate $2.40 towards his People Against Hilarious Videos organization.

Since the original video went viral all those years ago, Ghyslain Raza has been parodied many times by Parks and Rec, Arrested Development and even Family Guy.  Raza has come to terms with his internet fame, and now uses his “Star Wars Kid” video for the purpose of spreading awareness. Bullying is a very real concern to all, and we fully support his cause. For more information about anti-bullying, please visit:
