Exclusive: Character Names Revealed for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
After the official announcement of the cast of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Jacen’s cousin went dumpster diving to dig up any info on the characters they are portraying. After the jump take a look at what we found.
If you’re like the rest of us, you may have assumed Rogue One involves a ragtag group of resistance fighters from various backgrounds as seen above. Well you’re right! Each of these individuals come from planets from all across the galaxy who’ve put aside their differences in pursuit of a common goal, stealing the Death Star plans.
Anyway, let’s get to the goods. Here is the list of characters that Jacen’s cousin was able to find for us.
Hero Characters
- Riz Ahmed, who has a Star Wars-y name already, portrays demolitions expert Rook.
- Diego Luna, as many fans have already speculated, portrays recent Imperial defector, Biggs Darklighter.
- Felicity Jones portrays new rebel recruit, Jenn Orso.
- Jiang Wen portrays half of a bounty hunter duo, the marksman Ken Dykstra.
- Donnie Yen portrays the other half and Ken’s twin brother, Kal Dykstra who is a hand-to-hand combat expert.
- Alan Tudyk will be voicing and motion-capturing a droid called DZ-980 (Dee Zee).
Villain Characters
- Ben Mendelsohn portrays the Imperial leader, Grand Admiral Bron, who is tasked by Darth Vader to retrieve the stolen Death Star plans.
- Mads Mikkelsen will be portraying a Mandalorian bounty hunter hired by Bron called Gav Levin.
- Forest Whittaker is portraying a rival bounty hunter called Fi Trent who is after the plans for Jabba the Hutt.
Besides those actors some returning faces will appear in the film as well.
- Ian McDiarmid as The Emperor, hologram only.
- Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma
- Jimmy Smitts as Bail Organa
- Hayden Christianson and James Earl Jones as Darth Vader, body and voice respectively.
