Breaking! Disney and Lucasfilm Recasting Female Lead for Star Wars Episode VIII

News has just leaked that Disney and Lucasfilm are looking to recast a strong new female lead for Rian Johnson’s Star Wars Episode VIII. Join us after the jump for all the details.

Earlier today shocking news was leaked that Disney and Lucasfilm are looking to recast a new female lead for Episode VIII replacing Daisy Ridley as Rey. The report says JJ Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy have settled on a final cut of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and they have indeed shown the cut to the big wigs at Disney. Half way through the screening, the Disney big wigs stormed out, outraged over Ridley’s performance.

Industrial Light and Magic employees heard the Disney execs shouting at JJ and Kathleen, accusing Ridley’ inability to act of ruining the film. The execs were adamant that such a performance would not be tolerated in all three films of the new Star Wars trilogy. Another Disney higher-up was heard yelling that Disney has sunk billions into a film in which the lead actress was outperformed by [little person] wearing a Gonk droid outfit. Reports also claim that Bob Iger was seen punching holes in the walls of the lobby at ILM studios.

Another eyewitness said that after things died down a bit Alan Horn could be over heard talking to an unknown person on his cell phone. He was quoted as saying, “You gotta bail us out man. Could you please just come do a quick Special Edition of Episode VII like you did in the nineties with your original trilogy?”

So with this new information it seems Disney is trying to quickly and quietly recast a new young actress so that Episode VIII might stand a chance at the box office.

Does this mean they will kill Rey off or get a new actress to perform as the same character. We here at FakingStarWars hope they get Miley Cyrus, as she is a favorite in nerd fancasting.
