Disney Scraps Indy 5 in Favor of Indiana Jones/National Treasure Crossover

This just in from Jacen’s cousin who works at Nicolas Cage’s favorite Best Buy! Cage was at a local Best Buy store purchasing his Geek Squad exclusive BB-8 toy when Jacen’s cousin overheard Cage telling the man he was with that his National Treasure character, Benjamin Franklin Gates, will be in Disney’s proposed Indiana Jones 5. More details right after the jump!

Jacen’s cousin, we will call him Kal-El, was able to get these details while eavesdropping on Cage.

• Dr. Indiana Jones was cryogenically frozen around 1965 by the Russians.
• In the present day, Benjamin Franklin Gates, now a history professor at Marshall College, receives a map from a cryptic student from Russia, portrayed by Andy Samberg.

• Gates follows the map and it leads him to Russia’s capital of Moscow and he finds the frozen Dr. Jones.
• Gates thaws him out and discovers Jones has a long lost artifact of American history with him, George Washington’s wooden teeth and sword.
• Jones thanks Gates for releasing him from his icy prison and asks him to take him back to America.
• They were attacked by the Russian mob but a new ally, played by Johnny Depp, saves them and helps them escape back to America.

• Depp is revealed to be Jones’ son Mutt Williams grown into an adult. He had been searching for Jones since the 60’s and reveals his mother died in the 80’s.
• The cryptic student appears to Gates again with another map. This time leading to a hidden Russian base in Ford’s Theater, where President Lincoln was assassinated. The student again vanishes.
• The trio of Gates, Jones, and Williams, head to Ford’s Theater and uncover a Russian plot to steal the Statue of Liberty.
