Luke Skywalker is NOT Kylo Ren… or is He?
We here at Faking Star Wars have just gotten in two very different details on how Mark Hamill will appear in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. After the jump, we will dive in and take a look at these conflicting reports.
The first report comes from Jacen’s cousin, who says while working on the set of The Force Awakens, he managed to snap a few photos of Kylo Ren concept art that has yet to be leaked.
This photo reveals what Mr. Hamill is said to look like underneath the mask of Kylo Ren, indicating that Kylo Ren is indeed Luke Skywalker! But what about Adam Driver? Is he just a voice actor for Kylo or was he hired to confuse fans? In the following photo Hamill was on the set of what is said to be “Rose’s Pub” or Maz Kanata’s castle as seen in the full trailer that was recently released. Hamill is wearing contacts to make his eyes appear like Anakin Skywalker’s in Revenge of the Sith, indicating Luke Skywalker has turned to the dark side. Another note would be that both of these images portray Luke as he looked in the original trilogy. Perhaps the rumor that a younger, Mark-Hamill-Lookalike was indeed true!
Our second report comes from another of Jacen’s cousins. In this report it is confirmed that Mr. Hamill is NOT Kylo Ren in The Force Awakens, but an uber-power Jedi as most, if not all fans hope. Jacen’s cousin’s ex-fiancée’s ex-girlfriend managed to sneak these photos of Hamill while filming on Skellig Michael, Ireland.
In these photos Hamill is seen in a traditional Jedi robe and bearded just as he looked in real life at the time of filming. Our source says that this is a scene that takes place in the first few minutes of The Force Awakens, where Hamill is said to be training three Jedi in the ways of the Force, the Raid trio perhaps??
So what do you think? Is Luke Kylo Ren? Is he not Kylo Ren? Is Hamill portraying both Luke Skywalker AND Kylo Ren or Luuke? Expanded Universe fans know Luke has literally fought himself, well a clone of himself, in the Thrawn trilogy by Timothy Zahn.
