Hidden Clause in Lucasfilm/Disney Contract Discovered!
We’ve obtained a copy of the Disney/Lucas deal and poured over it with one of Jacen’s cousins who is a legal intern at the Keating Firm. It appears there is a clause in it no one’s talked about yet. See the full details after the jump!
After several hours of poring over 267 pages of very small print within the Disney/Lucas contract we have discovered that The Maker has the right to either a) “special edition” all future films or b) step in to direct again at any time he chooses! Coming from a source close to Lucas, calling himself “Jet Black,” George has decided to go ahead and activate clause 513 which reads as follows:
I, George Lucas, can step in to direct any Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Howard the Duck, or American Graffiti film whenever I please. This includes all creative control of the selected film(s).
The font of this particular clause appears to be size .5 Times New Roman and is only visible via a high powered magnifying glass, so it appears George has pulled the wool over Bob Iger’s eyes and will be exercising this clause, jumping into the final installment of the new sequel trilogy: Colin Trevorrow’s Star Wars Episode IX. You read that right, Colin is out and George is in. George originally planned to come back on Episode VIII but he liked Looper enough to let Rian Johnson take a crack at it.
