Harrison Ford’s Cameo in Young Han Solo Film?
We have received word from a denizen of the future who goes by the moniker “Old Biff.” Biff tells us that he has seen the Han Solo anthology film and Harrison Ford appears in it but not in the capacity you’re probably thinking! After the jump we will share the futuristic message left to us by the mysterious Biff.
In the original Star Wars film a Rodian bounty hunter named Greedo was working for Jabba the Hutt. He appears in film to capture Han Solo due to Solo owing a ton of cash for the cargo he lost. Greedo became famous for getting shot first by Han in the original theatrical version of Star Wars. That however all changed in 1997 with the release of the Star Wars: Special Edition which shows Greedo shooting first and missing Solo completely as the two square off in a gun battle at the famous Mos Eisley cantina. As the years have passed the phrase “Han Shot First” has become a part of popular culture. Director George Lucas insisted that the change was for the better, telling the Washington Post that Han Solo should be a cowboy like John Wayne and that John Wayne didn’t shoot first.
As sort of a joke, Harrison Ford is playing an old Rodian character in the Han Solo spin-off film. The character is not a lead in the film nor is it actually Greedo, but Ford will be merely sitting in the Mos Eisley Cantina, while Han is playing a hand of sabbac against Lando whom he doesn’t know yet. He gets up and passes Han on his way out whispering to the young smuggler this word of advice; “Always shoot first kid,” in Huttese. You can clearly hear Ford’s unaltered voice deliver the line!
Who is playing young Han you ask? Well, that’s a story for another time Old Biff told us but he will return to give us more goodies. Stay tuned for more fake news, leaks, rumors, spoilers, scoops, and poops regarding all future Star Wars films and media!
