We have discovered a new rumor which may tear apart the hearts of thousands of fanboys and girls across the galaxy. Another leak from a source for Episode VIII has come in, and it involves the fate of the late Han Solo’s famous starship, the Millennium Falcon. Find out what’s in store for the legendary Corellian YT-1300 light freighter after the jump. SPOILERS AHEAD!

We will just cut to the nitty-gritty and tell you straight up: The Millennium Falcon is going to be destroyed. Yep, that’s right! We’re pretty upset that we’ll never see the new kitchen Han installed, but at least the Falcon’s end promises to be one for the ages. Apparently, the beloved Correllian freighter will go out in a blaze of glory just as its former owner did in The Force Awakens. Director Rian Johnson decided it was time for the Falcon to pass the baton to another ship for our new generation of heroes.

The destruction of the Falcon is outlined in a leaked scene from the script.

  • When Finn wakes up from his coma, Poe greets him to fill him in on whats going on.
  • Poe tells Finn that Rey is training with Luke Skywalker and that only Chewbacca and R2-D2 know where they are.
  • Finn then confronts Chewie who was very excited to see Finn’s up and kickin’. Finn begs him to take him to Rey but Chewbacca refuses as Luke gave them very specific instructions to not let anyone else come to see them.
  • Finn is very upset by this and decides to take matters into his own hands. Knowing Rey’s location must still be stored on the Millennium Falcon’s nav-computer, he sneaks aboard the ship not knowing Chewbacca is in the back lying in a cot.
  • Chewie is still very depressed about Han’s death still and has become an alcoholic. Bottles of Corellian ale litter the floor of the captain’s quarters while the Wookiee strokes a framed photo of Han.

  • When the engines prime, Chewie awakes from his drunken stupor and runs toward the front of the ship to find Finn in the cockpit.
  • Finn remembers he has no idea how to pilot a ship and calls for Chewbacca’s help. Chewbacca sneaks up roars with anger and Finn screams like a Jawa, falling on the steering yoke.
  • The ship flips over and crashes into the ground, bursting into flames.
  • Chewie and Finn make it out of the Falcon unscathed as Resistance soldiers, Leia, Poe, C-3PO, and everyone else rush outside to see the freighter engulfed in flames.

No report on what the new “iconic” ship will be but from what we are hearing it will be drastically different than the Star Wars that JJ Abrams brought back with The Force Awakens.
