Top 10 Star Wars Films in the Works by Disney/Lucasfilm
Earlier this month, Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed that at least 10 unannounced Star Wars films are in production. While Bob did not reveal the titles or plots of these films, one of Jacen’s cousins, disguised as Matt the computer technician, was able to peek at Mr. Iger’s Dell PC. Our tech-savvy spy immediately emailed us with details of what he glimpsed. After the jump, we share Matt’s exclusive intel. Spoilers ahead!
- Boonta Eve: The Ballad of Sebulba
- From the creators of Frozen, Wreck-It Ralph, and Big Hero 6 comes Boonta Eve: The Ballad of Sebulba. Podracing superstar Sebulba (Will Ferrell) is at the top of his game; adored by fans, a duo of trophy Twerk’leks by his side, and incredible wealth. But Sebulba loses it all when slave-boy-turned-podracer Anakin Skywalker (Jake Lloyd) roars onto the scene. Sebulba, with the help of Jabba the Hutt (John C. Reilly), must pull himself out of the depths of despair and restore his honor on the race track. Pernilla August and Andy Secombe return to voice Anakin’s mother Shmi and slave owner Watto respectively in this film. Boota Eve: The Ballad of Sebulba also marks the directorial debut of Jake Lloyd within the worlds of feature-length animation.
- E.T. The Extraterrestrial 2: The Long Voyage Home
- In a secret deal between Lucasfilm and Universal prior to the Disney sale, the E.T. franchise was purchased by George Lucas who aimed to integrate it within the Star Wars universe. The idea sat in “Development Hell” for nearly a decade… until now. Director Steven Spielberg returns to helm the continued journey of our favorite Asogian, ET, whose true name is revealed to be Elan Tidmadt, as he voyages home from Earth, but crashes on a planet Star Wars fans will recognize as Takodana. ET then teams up with a certain “sage-like” figure who aides him on his journey home. Lupita Nyong’o returns as Maz Kanata and Captain America: Civil War star Tom Holland voices and performs the motion capture for ET in this long-awaited sequel.
- The Clumsy Gungan
- Another animated feature in the works is The Clumsy Gungan. Set on Naboo, we follow Jar Jar Binks in a coming-of-age tale that documents how Jar Jar went from a respected member of the Gungan Legislative Youth Program to the banished klutz we saw in The Phantom Menace. Ahmed Best returns to voice the Gungan along with an all-star cast including Robert De Niro as Jar Jar’s father George Binks, Sandra Bullock as Jar Jar’s mother Vivan Binks, Maya Rudolph as Jar Jar’s fiancée Tweeda Loo, Owen Wilson as Jar Jar’s brother Raj Raj Binks, and Christopher Walken as Jar Jar’s grandfather Lu Cas Binks, with Fred Tatasciore and Brian Blessed returning as Lieutenant Roos Tarpals and Boss Nass respectively. George Lucas also returns to direct this groundbreaking new film. Look out for Strange Magic cameos!
- Sex & the City Planet: Coruscant Nights
- Sheev Palpatine is the most respected bachelor on Coruscant — and not just because he’s a senator but because he’s also a master between the sheets. Tom Hiddleston stars as the newly elected senator from Naboo whom we follow on his escapades as a true playboy and swift politician under the tutelage of his mentor Vice-Chancellor Hego Snoke (Andy Serkis). While we won’t see the the dark side of Sheev, we do get a window into his charming side as we learn how he conned his way to the top in the Galactic Senate. Sarah Jessica Parker co-stars as Sheev’s love interest and journalist for the top Galactic Holonet blog, Karree Radchaw.
- Burger Dreams: The Chronicles of Snap Wexley Vol. 1
- Portly X-wing pilot Temmin “Snap” Wexley (Greg Grunberg) and his irrepressible friend, Nien Numb (Keanu Reeves), get stoned on a reconnaissance mission to planet Airald near the Rishi Maze and find themselves utterly bewitched by a commercial for Grunburgers: the Greasiest Sliders in the Galaxy. Convinced there must be one nearby on planet Kumar IV, the two set out on a late-night odyssey that takes them deep into space. Somehow, the boys manage to run afoul of tusken raiders, First Order stormtroopers, and even a speederbike-stealing Bossk (Neil Patrick Harris) before getting anywhere near their beloved burgers. Josh Trank returns to the Star Wars franchise after being fired to direct this first-person stoner comedy set in the galaxy far, far away.
- Darth Plagueis and the Golden Droid
- Running concurrently with the events of Sex in the City Planet: Coruscant Nights, we follow Sheev Palpatine’s secret Sith master, the evil dark lord Darth Plagueis (Jake Gyllenhaal) under the guise of Jedi Syfo-Dias, and his droid C-3PO (Anthony Daniels). The duo set off on a mission to Kamino to order a secret army of clones for the Repuplic but crash on planet Ahch-To. On their way to the nearest civilization, Plagueis makes a drunken pass at Threepio that is eventually reciprocated on Snokeback Mountain, one of the planet’s rocky islands. Unfortunately Plagueis marries his longtime sweetheart, Mon Mothma (Michelle Williams), and Threepio banishes himself to the desert world of Tatooine. The two beings keep up their tortured and sporadic affair over the course of 20 years in this tragic yet beautiful love story.
- Poe Dameron: Lothal Gangstah
- Set before the events of The Force Awakens, Poe Dameron (Oscar Issac) is sent undercover by Leia Organa-Solo (Carrie Fisher) as a chauffeur for one of Lothal’s leading mobsters, Cikatro Vizago (Robert Duvall). After Vizago dies at the hand of a rival gang, Poe uses his own ingenuity and strict business code to become one of Capital City’s most powerful crime bosses in an effort to gain members for the growing Resistance against the First Order. Meanwhile, veteran law enforcement officer Zichie Cloberts (Russell Crowe) senses a change in the mob’s power structure and looks for ways to bring his opponent to justice, unaware they both fight for the New Republic.
- Dash Dolls Go Dathomirian
- Kommodus (Kim Kardashian) takes power and strips rank from five of her generals, some of the most favored generals of her predecessor and father, Emperor Robert Kardashius, the great Dathomirian philosopher. The generals are then relegated to fighting to the death in the gladiator arenas. Ray Park also stars as a young Darth Maul sent into the arena to train under his master Darth Sidious (Ian McDiarmind).
- Booty Werk Jedi Twerk
- By day, Mace Windu (Samuel L. Jackson) makes ends meet any way he can — Jedi missions, training younglings or telling angry padawans they aren’t ready for the trials. But nighttime is when Mace really gets to display his many talents: he’s the headliner in an all-male revue on Coruscant’s level 1313. Mace sees potential in his younger, non-Force sensitive, brother Jace (Ice Cube), and takes him under his wing and instructs him in the tricks of the trade. However, Mace learns there’s a downside to the stripper lifestyle when it threatens his romance with Master Yoda’s sister, Yaddle (Nicki Minaj). Channing Tatum makes his directorial debut with Booty Werk Jedi Twerk, which combines his two favorite things: male strippers and male strippers.
- Blue Milk Hangover
- Two days before his wedding, Owen (Joel Edgerton) and three friends Ben Kenobi, Boba Fett, and Weazel (Ewan McGreggor, Daniel Logan, Warwick Davis) drive to Mos Espa for a wild and memorable stag party. In fact, when the three groomsmen wake up the next morning, they can’t remember a thing; nor can they find Owen. With little time to spare, the three hazy pals try to re-trace their steps to find Owen so they can get him back to the Lars Homested in time to walk down the aisle with his sweetheart Beru (Bonnie Piesse).
