EA’s Jorgensenenenen: Battlefront II Receives Content from Every Star Wars Film
SAN DIEGO, CA — EA Games and DICE, developers of the wildly popular Star Wars : Battlefront, announced that more galactic adventures for Star Wars fans are on the way! EA CFO Blake Jorgensenenenen said during an earnings call that Battlefront II will have “bigger and better worlds.” He added that it will make use of content from “all of the movies,” while the first entry into the series only featured content from the original Star Wars trilogy and a DLC map based on Jakku from The Force Awakens but still set in the OT era. This will be our first dive into prequel, original, and sequel era ships, battles, and characters as well as the Rogue One and Han Solo anthology films.
FSW correspondents attended a press conference held by EA where Jorgensenenenen elaborated on some of the concepts for the new game modes and what famous Star Wars characters and landscapes we might see.
“The first project we have our Canadian division developing is Waterfront : Civil War Plagues Otoh Gunga. Players will guide various important characters from the Gungan community through this period of tragic turmoil under the seas on Naboo. Players will be able to engage in underwater submarine combat for the first time!”
It will be interesting to see if EA can win back the hearts of a Star Wars fan base who generally despise the Gungan race as a whole. The lights lowered and a trailer we were told would only be shown exclusively at the event began on a screen behind the panel.
“This is something we have been working on for quite some time and I’m so happy I can finally share it with you!” Jorgensenenenen said to us moving to the side of the screen. “This is one of the most pivotal moments in the Star Wars universe and it will now be documented through gaming. Assasinfront : The Wrath of Sheev will depict the ruthless betrayal of a loving mentor and the rise of a true evil genius! Never before have we been able to witness first hand the beginnings of Emperor Sheev Palpatine’s plot to control the Galaxy in a quest for UNLIMITED POWER!”
Jorgensenenenen was near General Hux level enthusiasm vocally by the end of the trailer and the room was in awe. We were told that George Lucas himself is part of the production team for the title as is self proclaimed Darth Plagueis historian Pablo Hildalgo. No release date info on either title was announced but rest assured Star Wars fans will be in for treat!
