SPOILERS: Plot of Episode VIII Revealed?
Jacen’s Chinese cousin Fu Chan uncovered a slew of new information regarding Star Wars Episode VIII including full plot details and a possible title. While this report may be false, there’s always a slim chance it’s the Real McCoy. Possible SPOILERS ahead after the break!
- Film is called Heir of Darkness.
- Word of Luke Skywalker’s return is spreading. All across the Galaxy the mysterious Church of the Force is gathering in First Order-controlled systems and awaiting the liberation at the hands of Skywalker.
- Rey and Luke train on Ahch-to, Luke tells Rey the story of the fall of Ben Solo.
- Leia attends a memorial for those who perished in the attacks on Hosnian Prime. During this memorial an attempt is made on her life.
- Poe and Finn try to track down the would be assassin.
- Rey and Luke continue training.
- A Church of the Force protest gains followers and as crowds become restless General Hux orders the group outlawed. Mass executions take place across the Galaxy.
- One of these members escapes and sends word to the Resistance: she’s got information vital to the Resistance that could help them bring down Snoke.
- Meanwhile in the New Senate many systems are all for joining the First Order lest they face the same fate as Hosnian Prime. Mon Destra (Laura Dern) pleads with them not to fall for the First Order’s tricks, but a vote is held and the majority of systems decide they will live under First Order Rule.
- Leia sends Poe and Finn to meet with the informant on the planet Vergarian, the Las Vegas of the Star Wars Galaxy.
- Rey senses Finn is in danger during her training. Luke remarks he can’t stop her from going, as he himself once did the same.
- Finn is recognized by an old friend from the training academy who thinks he’s an undercover agent. Little comic relief before a series of tense events.
- The leader of the system is a man called Ducain (Benicio del Toro). He says he was a friend of Han Solo and that he will aide them on their mission but encourages them to enjoy themselves while they are there.
- Rey and Luke leave for Vergarian. Luke finishes his tale of Kylo Ren’s fall.
- Ducain has betrayed Finn and Poe and they’ve been captured and turned over to the First Order. Captain Phasma tortures Finn.
- Mon Destra is revealed to have been a First Order sympathizer all along and signs a treaty dissolving the Resistance and handing over the last few systems to the First Order. Another attempt is made on Leia’s life but Maz Kanata saves her.
- Rey and Luke have snuck into the casino where Finn is being held. Poe is rescued and helps them make their way to Finn’s cell, but the ground gives out beneath them and all three are separated.
- Rey lands on a catwalk and hears a lightsaber ignition. Kylo Ren stands on the other end.
- Luke jumps down in between the two and they have words. Kylo Ren and Luke begin to fight. Images of Supreme Leader Snoke fill the underbelly of the casino as he watches the fight between former student and master.
- Leia and Maz meet up with the last remaining of those loyal to the Resistance on a cruiser. They speed off as she senses all are in danger.
- Kylo Ren beats Luke and Rey comes to. She leaps out igniting her saber and saving Luke, initiating a rematch with Kylo Ren. Kylo is much stronger than he was on Starkiller.
- Poe regains consciousness and enlists Chewie’s help to rescue Finn. They get him out and make their way back to the Falcon.
- Rey and Kylo Ren are locked in an intense fight when Snoke tells them both to stop. He speaks to Rey. He tells her her destiny lies with him. She says she’ll never join the Darkside. He tells her it’s in her blood. He reveals she’s the granddaughter of the former Emperor and that Luke killed her parents and intended to kill her too before she was hidden from him. Rey is devastated by this news but knows in her heart it is true.
- Poe bursts in with the Falcon and blasts away at Kylo Ren, who avoids the fire but escapes with Luke as his prisoner.
- Rey is rescued aboard the Falcon and cries as Finn comforts her.
- The Falcon reunites with Leia and the Cruiser and Rey seeks guidance with Maz Kanata, who assures her that her destiny isn’t written by the blood running in her veins, but by the intentions inside.
