Young Tarkin Celebrates Old Tarkin with Epic Birthday Bash!

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Industrial Light & Magic is pulling yet another rabbit from its hat in the form of a live CGI birthday party to honor the late great Peter Cushing. The celebrated actor, who would have turned 97 today, is experiencing a second life via CG for the upcoming Star Wars spinoff Rogue One. Naturally, the ambitious creation approached ILM with the idea for the party initiative a few months ago.

Sources tell FSW the digital specialists immediately greenlit the idea. We’ve also managed to obtain some of the party plans as well.

Amazingly, the guest list for Young Tarkin’s party for Old Tarkin reads like a Who’s Who of Hollywood Reanimated Royalty.

Invitees include hologram Tupac, Vincent Price, young Jeff Bridges from Tron: Legacy, young Laurence Olivier from Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Peter Seller’s from Trail of the Pink Panther, Oliver Reed from Gladiator, Roy Sheider from Iron Cross, Bruce Lee from Game of Death, and his son Brandon from The Crow, Nancy Marchand from The Sopranos (with whom Young Tarkin had a 2-year love affair with back in the 90’s), John Candy from Wagons East!, Marlon Brando from Superman Returns, Paul Walker from Fast & the Furious 7, and of course Christopher Lee from Attack of the Clones and countless Hammer horror film classics, who celebrates his own living self’s birthday tomorrow.

Much like P. Diddy’s white party, Young Tarkin’s fiesta will have a few strict codes enforced. Guests must appear in at least 1080 dpi with 4k resolution preferred. They must also have been A list in life, not simply in their second lives.

Young Tarkin doesn’t appear to be too much of an elitist, however, as certain reanimated stars of commercials are also invited, including Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, and Marilyn Monroe.

The host didn’t just rest on his digital laurels, either. He personally contacted the CGI likenesses of several guests through proprietary Maya 3D Sentient Messenger software.

As expected, the venue for the party is a lush basement affair, where ILM typically hosts nightly LAN parties, so it’s well equipped for today’s festivities.

“We’re rigged for at least 150 high-end workstations with hologram friendly lighting.”

Unlike his on-screen persona in Rogue One, Young Tarkin is actually a very welcoming host. We hear he even plans to live-stream the event to the late Peter Cushing’s family and friends.

“For shame we cannot all be CG, but that’s no reason the living and the dead cannot fête Peter Cushing together.”

Insiders say Young Tarkin has arranged quite an evening for his fellow computer creations.

“They’re going to Skype for a bit, karaoke, do impressions, then attempt to blow up a virtual Death Star pinata. Only Tarkin knows that it’s rigged to never explode… so it’s gonna be a late evening for everyone.”

We reached out to the estates of several invitees, but only heard back from Roy Scheider’s camp.

“Sounds like a CGI sausage fest if you ask me… I think dad’s gonna power down pretty quickly.”
