John Boyega to Produce & Star in Battleship 2
Just a few weeks after confirming that his new production company is producing Pacific Rim 2, John Boyega has stated that Upper Room Productions is also working on Battleship 2, a sequel to the 2012 film based on the children’s boardgame.
Not much is known about the sequel but sources claim it revolves around the British Navy. According to FSW insiders, Battleship 2 picks up after the post-credits scene that ended with some kids finding an alien in Scotland.
Spies confirm that Liam Neeson, Rihanna, and Alexander Skarsgard will be the only returning cast members alongside newcomer Boyega, who joins the cast with his Force Awakens co-star, Domhnall Gleeson. Some speculate that the return of Skarsgard indicates that his character is not the same from the first film but rather a clone created by the aliens. The plot has not been confirmed yet at this point but we will keep you updated.
