The Dalai Lama Endorses Rogue One

AMDO, TIBET — Tenzin Gyatso, better known as the Dalai Lama, has a new favorite movie of all time. Granted the spiritual leader has only seen three films in his 81 years on the planet Earth, but Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is now at the top of the list. It appears Disney’s pilgrimage to the spiritual leader’s mountainside resort for a private screening has paid off.

“You can’t get a holier endorsement. Unless God himself comes down from Heaven, this is as good as it gets. And Buddhists don’t believe in God, so we’re golden,” said a Disney spokesperson. According to insiders, the Dalai Lama was very impressed with the character of Chirrut, played by martial arts superstar Donnie Yen.

“He is me right? They nailed the wardrobe but totally screwed up my eyes. I wear reading glasses but I’m not blind!”

The Dalai Lama was impressed with Chirrut’s message of hope, and religious harmony. The Holy leader drew parallels between the Force-faithful nation of Jeddah seen in the film and his own Tibet.

“Gareth Edwards has given us a gift. And I can tell you it is far and away the best movie since The Golden Child. Two Lama thumb’s up!”

No word on whether or not Disney will make pilgrimages to the Pope or other religious leaders as well.
