Figrin D’an Announces First New Album in 40 Years
Figrin D’an and the Modal Nodes will release their first album in four decades next year, they announced Tuesday. SALACIOUS will arrive sometime in 2017 via Galactic Records and will feature new, original songs, recorded in studios on Coruscant. Figrin’s children Figrin D’an Jr. and Ingrin D’an will play backup on the quetarra and kloo horn, respectively, and he’s also joined by The Rebo Band‘s flutist Droopy McCool, harmonicist Rappertunie, and drummer Ak-rev.
Figrin D’an said in a statement;
“This record is dedicated to my third beloved [wife] Toodi. My darlin’ I’m growing old! I’ve worked on this record for a long time. Now I can hang up my shoes!”
His son Figrin D’an Jr. added, “What an honor to be part of this new music. The Modal Nodes fell right into the groove and followed his lead. These songs cover the spectrum from hard driving jizzwailers to soulful thought provoking time capsules of a life’s work.”
SALACIOUS will be the Modal Nodes’ first studio album since 6 BBY’s Jizz It, though they’ve released a handful of live and compilation albums in the past 30 years.
