George Lucas Replaces Tim Miller Directing Deadpool Sequel
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – “What the *^@#@&^@*” is probably what Deadpool would say about the latest developments regarding the sequel to his smash hit solo outing. Over the weekend, director Tim Miller parted ways with Fox, citing creative differences with leading man/producer Ryan Reynolds. FSW did some digging and uncovered the truth behind the dramatic turn of events.
According to our informant named “DStroke,” Reynolds became “high on his own supply, a total egomaniac” and “obsessed with funny comic book heroes” and the script was “total poop.” Miller was okay with doubling down on comedy in the sequel, but the tone of the humor became a sticking point. “Reynolds insisted on adding Squirrell Girl, Peter Porker (Spider-Ham), and Howard the mother*^(%ing Duck! The hack was even having Carrot Top ghost write the script. That’s when Miller bailed.”
Our spy goes on to detail Fox and Reynolds’ backup plan: Howard the Duck and Star Wars creator George Lucas. Negotiations are currently underway but if Lucas bites, Deadpool 2 will be the first R rated film he’s directed since 1971’s THX 1138. “DStroke” also mentioned that the sequel to the $782 million grossing film follows Deadpool as he builds the funniest gang of superheroes in the galaxy.
“This clown is making Deadpool into Guardians of the Galaxy with even lesser known characters.”
Our spy left us with this behind-the-scenes nugget:
“They’re writing all kinds of meta scenes for Howard as a way for Lucas to crap on prequel haters. The weird thing is, I hear Lucas is totally down. He said he loves working with Canadians and misses the Hayden days.”
Thanks to “DStroke” for the scoop. Hopefully our Merc with a Mouth under Lucas’ direction can recapture the magic that made his first film outing fun. As always, stay tuned to FakingStarWars.net for the latest on this and all otherstories from a galaxy far, far away.
