John Williams Has Never Seen Star Wars; George Lucas has never Heard it

Apparently Star Wars is so good on paper, you don’t even have to see or hear the film to appreciate it. At least that’s the takeaway from the latest exchange between two of the driving forces behind the iconic film series.

The drama began with Star Wars composer John Williams telling The Mirror that he’s never seen the original film, currently known as Episode IV: A New Hope. That admission set off a chain reaction that eventually made its way back to Skywalker Ranch, where The Maker, Star Wars creator George Lucas, did not take too fondly of the news.

“Oh really… is that what John Boy said? Well, you tell him, loud and clear, I’ve never heard the films. Not a single overblown note. Maybe that will open his eyes.”

Lucas went on to explain his fondness for a rare type of ear plug that drowns out both sound and harsh criticism.

George Lucas claims to have worn the SureFire EarPro Sonic Defenders to drown out the sounds made by John Williams, Ben Burtt and Star Wars actors.

According to the retired director, he has also never heard any of Ben Burtt’s iconic sound effects. When asked whether this might explain his difficulties providing direction for the actors in Star Wars, Lucas replied with “What? What? I loved it!”

So there you have it. The greatest film trilogy of all time was created by a man who refused to listen, aided by another man who kept his eyes closed the entire time.

As always, keep it locked to FakingStarWars.net for the latest and greatest made up news from a galaxy far, far away.
