Upon careful analysis of the teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, fans quickly pointed out that Kylo Ren’s look had changed. Gone was the disfiguring scar that traveled across both sides of his face, from his forehead over the bridge of his nose and onto his cheek. In its place was a much more demure and barely-there blemish that ran from the top of his brow to his cheek on only one side of his face. The change sparked a mini-controversy on Twitter before director Rian Johnson weighed in to clarify and quell fan concerns. He gave a candid answer, but FSW did some digging and uncovered the real motivations behind the change.
