You Won’t Believe Which Star Wars Characters Are Getting Spinoff Films
With the official rumor coming out that a director has been chosen for the long requested Obi-Wan Kenobi solo film, many sites are reporting that other characters have spinoff films planned for them too — everyone from Boba Fett to Yoda and even Jabba the Hutt. Well sorry folks, those films aren’t really in development but FakingStarWars knows which ones are!
Based on the scoop we received from our Lucasfilm sleeper agent, FSW knows that Pablo Hidalgo, Kathleen Kennedy, Disney CEO Bob Iger, and the MAKER himself George Lucas have been meeting for future spinoff films. Our inside man was able to steal a napkin, which had a list of characters slated to get their own solo films written on it.
A spinoff film revolving around Sebulba is in the works, showing the rise and fall of the Dug podracing ace. Jake Lloyd is supposedly on board to voice a digitally de-aged version of himself as Anakin Skywalker set right before Qui-Gon and his crew arrive on Tatooine. Sacha Baron Cohen is also in talks to voice the titular Dug as well.
A spinoff film starring Asian female Jedi, Bultar Swan is also in the works, set for release exclusively in China. It’s unknown what the plot will be or who will star as Bultar, but it will likely be a Chinese actress or Emma Stone.
A Wookiee spinoff has been in the works since George’s inception of the Star Wars universe. Well his vision is finally coming to fruition as a film starring Wookiee warrior Tarfful is in development with A Game of Thrones’ Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson in talks for the lead role. George Lucas is dead set on directing and writing this film and plans for it to not have any dialog that isn’t in the native Wookiee languge of Shyriiwook. It will be completely subtitled like 2004’s The Passion of the Christ.
Another of Lucas’ first spinoff ideas was an all-droid film. Well guess what, we’re getting one of those too. The plot isn’t set in stone yet but George is planning on R5-D4 being the lead with a comedy relief protocol droid as his sidekick, likely voiced by Kevin Hart. How will this work with R5-D4 having a bad motivator? We don’t know, but a Kevin Hart droid sounds like an awful idea. DON’T LET US DOWN GEORGE!
The next spinoff idea will actually tell the origin of John Boyega’s Finn. How his parents met as opposing sides of the Galactic Civil War, falling in love, and eventually leading to the birth of Finn, who is stolen by the First Order to become a stormtrooper. Random background extra from Empire Strikes Back known by the name “Ice Cream Maker Man” or Willrow Hood in canon, is looking to be Finn’s father with his mother being Imperial Admiral Rae Sloane. If they cast Rihanna as Sloane, we will be 100% on board.
This fan-favorite character from Return of the Jedi is set to appear again in his own spinoff film. Now that Salacious B. Crumb is out of Jabba’s giant shadow, he will finally be able to shine on his own. In a dramatic tale of self-discovery and ups and downs in the lizard-monkey’s life, fans will shout, “MOAR! MOAR!” for more Salacious after his debut solo outing. Barry Jenkins is attached to direct.
Finally, we have a solo spinoff film based on The Force Awakens’ break out star, Constable Zuvio. This film will be a straight-up western. Zuvio will be battling bandits and defending Niima Outpost from an unruly Teedo gang who have been stealing food and supplies from the good citizens of Niima Outpost. Daisy Ridley is confirmed to make a brief cameo.
