Extended Frozen Short to Play Before Last Jedi

Due to overwhelming demand, Olaf’s Frozen Adventure, the animated short that debuted before Coco, will also play before every screening of Disney’s other holiday tentpole Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The comedic short, which was never really “short” to begin with, will have its 21-minute runtime extended to account for two additional musical numbers written and performed by fan favorite Josh Gad. We’re told Olaf’s Frozen Adventure: Special Edition’s will be a whopping 45 minutes long. The extended short plus trailers and The Last Jedi’s own runtime adds up to over 200 minutes of Disney magic for three generations of Star Wars fans and one generation of Frozen fans.

The move comes after Olaf’s short helped Coco smash box office records in Mexico. Gad, who’s no stranger to Star Wars superfans, actually came up with the idea himself.

Gad claims to be the self-proclaimed BFF of Daisy Ridley.

“People love Olaf almost as much as they enjoy the chemistry between Daisy Ridley and myself. So I figured why not give the people more of what they love. Granted I’m not in The Last Jedi with Daisy — though we are working on squeezing me into Episode IX — but until then, this is the next best thing!”

As of the this morning, FSW spies could not confirm or deny rumors that BB-8 cameos in Olaf’s Frozen Adventure: Special Edition.
