Rian Johnson Turns A New Leaf, Engages In Constructive Dialogue, Likes One Of Our Tweets
“There has been an awakening. Have you felt it?” Star Wars fans across the Twittersphere are reporting that director Rian Johnson is no longer putting his fingers in his ears and screaming LALALALA! I CAN’T HEAR YOU! BLOCKED!
According to multiple sources, rather than continuing to feed the toxicity surrounding Star Wars and The Last Jedi in particular, by making fun of critics or posting memes in reply to their concerns, Johnson is now engaging in thoughtful discussion with fans.
“First of all, he didn’t block me outright or call me a manbaby. But more importantly, he explained what The Last Jedi meant to him, and how it adheres to some of the tenets that make Star Wars special to him. And that’s a personal thing, so obviously it’s entirely subjective. But it really made me look at his movie through a different lens. I may not agree with every creative decision he made, but after hearing where he was coming from, I can accept them. He definitely won my respect for treating me with respect. And that can go a long way towards healing the big divide in Star Wars fandom today,” said one of Johnson’s most vocal critics.
FSW has also run its fair share of stories critical of Johnson, however, even we have somehow NOT been blocked by the filmmaker. In fact, he recently liked a Taxi Driver gif we posted as well. So there’s definitely truth to a newer, more positive Rian Johnson out there, radiating good vibes for all Star Wars fans.
Hopefully, this sparks a sea change where actual dialogue replaces the non-stop posting of vitriolic tweets by both anti-Disney Star Wars fans and those who feel The Last Jedi is the greatest film ever. Don’t @ me!!! Just kidding. XOXO
