Fans To Crowd-fund Giant Rian Johnson Manbaby Balloon
Inspired by a London group that managed to raise $30,000 for a 20-foot tall Donald Trump baby balloon, a collective of Star Wars fans are intent on repeating that success albeit with a decidedly more subversive spin. Our sources say the outfit, which is made up of lifelong fans, was severely disappointed with Rian Johnson’s The Last Jedi, but even moreso with the director’s subsequent behavior on Twitter.
According to the superfans, Johnson has been quick to label anyone critical of his perfect film a “manbaby” or worse. The label immediately stuck with other Disney employees using the term to bully their core customers.
“It’s time to show the world who the real manbaby is. With a giant balloon of Rian Johnson in a diaper. His head is already inflated thanks to his oversized ego, so it really shouldn’t cost too much to make,” said one of the group’s organizers.
Our source tells us the group will soon be approaching several of Johnson’s most vocal critics, including genre filmmaker Uwe Boll, comic book artist Ethan Van Sciver and Jeremy Griggs, founder and host of the Geeks and Gamers YouTube channel.
“We just need some big names to endorse us and really get this thing off the ground. Our hope is to launch a Kickstarter or GoFundMe and raise $25,000 to create the balloon in time to fly it at Star Wars Celebration in 2019,” said another member of the anonymous group.
The passionate fans hope their giant bag of hot air in a diaper can exceed their goals, because the Rian Johnson balloon is just the tip of the iceberg.
“Ideally, we’d raise enough to hand out manbaby diapers filled with chocolate Munchkins or actual Last Jedi Blu-rays to any fans waiting in line for a panel at Celebration.”
How sweet. We can’t begin to imagine the amount of tears the Rian Johnson Manbaby balloon will generate should it ever take flight.
