RUMOR: How Episode IX, Resistance, and Rian Johnson's Trilogy Connect

A Lucasfilm insider has spilled the beans to one of our correspondents regarding how three upcoming Star Wars projects will link together. It’s some pretty interesting ideas but it could be considered spoilers so proceed with caution.

SPOILERS! SPOILERS! SPOILERS!

Okay, you still there? Let’s go!

  • In Episode IX, Luke’s ghost will take viewers to a ghost realm that Dave Filoni is already developing an animated series for 3rd graders to explore in Star Wars Resistance.
  • There we will meet Force ghosts of animals that are cute and kid friendly, that will be fully realized in Rian’s spin-off trilogy that will be be exclusively direct to DVD before appearing on Disney’s streaming service about a year later.

  • Rian’s trilogy is based on the Force wielding Fathiers of the Unknown Regions as they battle for their lands against Force Banthas – or “Fanthas” as they refer to them in-house at Lucasfilm.
  • You see, Fanthas and Fathiers are actually sister species that once ruled in the Unknown Regions until the King Fathier betrayed the Queen Fantha and went on a hunt for Snoke.

  • Hoping that Snoke could repair their lands facing an ecological disaster but they ended up causing the awakening Snoke mentioned during the events of The Force Awakens.

Yet another kid friendly Star Wars in development. This angers many of the single veteran Star Wars fans on staff here at FSW HQ. They believe they should be the target demographic of Lucasfilm since they saw A New Hope as kids in 1977. Who am I to disagree?
