Mackauley Culkin To Star As Jaxxon In Bunny Ears Lucasfilm Collaboration
BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN — Pagemaster star and gentleman extraordinaire Mackauley Culkin will be joining the Star Wars universe in a role that has everyone hopping for joy. In the first of several high-profile collaborations for the Disney + streaming service, Culkin’s Bunny Ears satirical lifestyle brand is producing a live action comedy series following the misadventures of Jaxxon — the green rabbit smuggler made famous in Star Wars comic books.
The Disney + exclusive stars Culkin as Jaxxon in a loose adaptation of “The Lost Eggs of Livorno,” a storyline with the only appearance of the mischievous smuggler considered Disney canon. The TV show is said to be action-adventure with a healthy dose of comedy thrown in the mix. Apparently, Jaxxon is prone to 4th wall breaking moments a la Deadpool, which has Culkin psyched.
“I started Bunny Ears to parody wellness lifestyles, but the company has taken on a life of its own. We’re now making fun of comic books, videogames — even Star Wars. So I’m really excited to be bringing this ridiculous green rabbit… who’s actually pretty badass… to life for the small screen. I’m also looking forward to working with my buddy Seth [Green] again. Robot Chicken creator Seth Green will indeed be helming the Jaxxon series, reuniting the good friends, who recently worked together on Green’s directorial debut Changeland. “Imagine Howard The Duck but actually funny & set in the Star Wars universe. That’s what we’re aiming for LOL” said Green via text message.
