Gina Carano Becomes Strongest Lead Ever In Star Wars

Lucasfilm just raised the barbell — for the first time in 40 years, one of the leads in Star Wars is going to be strong enough to pull the ears off a gundark. Former Strikeforce Women’s Lightweight Champion Gina Carano has joined the cast of The Mandalorian as a fiercely independent bounty hunter with a mysterious past.

The statuesque Carano is no stranger to the silver screen, appearing in blockbusters like Fast & Furious 6 and Deadpool, while also having played the lead in Steven Soderbergh’s Haywire. However, this marks the first time the 5’8” performer appears alongside actors who aren’t particularly powerful or as physically fit as herself.

“I’m used to working with really strong people like the Rock… or taking punches to the face by a real life Cyborg… but I think I’ll get used to acting with people who only work out during filming,” said Carano after an intense Muay Thai training session with Kevin “The Soul Assassin” Ross.

Showrunner Jon Favreau actually created the all-new bounty hunter role just for Carano. “Gina has a powerful core and insane amounts of charisma… so she plays a complete badass with a killer smile… someone who exudes warmth, but can turn on a dime and literally toss you into another dimension. I love her.”

The Carano effect is already being felt on set.

“I feel stronger just being around her. Gina’s inspired me to start taking human growth hormone, because I really want a picture of me as Latino Superman and Gina as Wonder Woman. Ya tu sabes!” said funny man John Luguizamo, who has a recurring role on The Mandalorian.

As for whether the lead male performer in the show feels intimidated by Carano, there’s nothing to worry about.

“Intimidated? Quite the opposite. I’m very much looking forward to working with Gina. She can literally carry me on my back — and look amazing doing it… so I’m pumped. Not as pumped as her, but hey… a guy can dream, right” said Pedro Pascale.

Carano easily becomes the strongest performer to ever appear in Star Wars. But for context, here is the actor power scale as compiled by FSW experts:

  1. Gina Carano
  2. Harrison Ford
  3. Pedro Pascal
  4. David Prowse
