Lucasfilm Blames Fans For Cancellation Of LEGO Star Wars Days

FSW has just caught wind that the annual event known as LEGO Star Wars Days has been canceled by Lucasfilm. “Due to the overwhelming lack of interest in The Last Jedi and Solo-themed LEGO sets, 2018 will be the last year we produce celebrations at LEGOLANDS,” read a Lucasfilm statement. According to a spokesperson, the festivities are no longer financially or emotionally viable given how much pain and suffering the lackluster sales and attendance have caused employees.

“Our creative executives don’t handle rejection well. They take criticism to heart, and several of us are battling depression, because fans are not buying the new LEGO sets. So why bother putting on celebrations for ungrateful brickheads? We’re better off refocusing our investments elsewhere and allowing our employees to heal.”

As part of the healing process, Lucasfilm has hired a full-time therapist for employees, and introduced a more flexible work schedule to enable a better work/life balance. In January, the company is also launching an internal campaign titled “Hope Heals” dedicated to empowering creatives to push past any criticism they may face from entitled angry Star Wars fans.

It’s not all depressing news though. We’re told the real reason for the end of LEGO Star Wars Days is the more lucrative Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, which is set to open at Disneyland and Disney World in 2019.
