Real Episode IX Trailer Description & Title Reveal
FSW is back with another Episode IX teaser trailer breakdown, but this one didn’t move the needle much on our trusty Fake-O-Meter. So it may in fact be real.

According to our source, the trailer is coming next week and it’s super short — literally just six shots, two of which are objects. The teaser is about 30 seconds, and will debut online, then also play during the Super Bowl. Here’s a detailed breakdown of the shots:
- First shot is the Skywalker saber reforged. It is clearly different and by the appearance of the handle it looks like it’s going to be a cross guard like Kylo Ren’s.
- The next image is Kylo Ren’s helmet, pieced back together like a broken vase. All the cracks are red.
- The next image is Leia from behind overlooking a green planet below from what looks like a bridge of a ship.
- There’s a short scene of Finn and Poe arming themselves and Poe asks Finn if he’s ready.
- A hooded figure makes their way through a crowd, Chewbacca is with them. The shot is from behind.
- Black boots crunch in the snow as a red lightsaber ignites (probably Kylo’s but I don’t want to make assumptions) and melts the snow.
- Then there’s a title card. It’s called Star Wars: Son of Darkness.
There you have it. If true, it would validate an earlier report regarding the title. Of course, the description still leaves many questions unanswered. Is Rey the hooded figure walking with Chewbacca? What planet is Leia looking down on? Is Kylo’s use of a modded Anakin lightsaber what turns him to the light?
