The dark side is strong with our newest leak which may reveal the big baddie of Episode IX — and it’s a name you certainly haven’t heard before. The leak comes to us from a mole deep inside Lucasfilm Story Group. Proceed with caution as potentially HUGE SPOILERS are revealed below.

According to our spy:

Most of the plot is about Rey and Kylo teaming up to confront a being called “The Sorcerer of Ankrom”, who is revealed to be behind everything since Episode I. Pulling the puppet strings of Sidious and his master Plagueis but they were unaware of it.

Screen shot from Star Wars: The Old Republic.

This sorcerer created a dark relic long time ago. Whoever possesses this relic can become basically a “force god” and control everything, it’s what Snoke and Luke were really looking for. Luke sought to destroy this relic causing the sorcerer to lose his power, but Snoke wanted to use it to take control the galaxy.

Rey has a new friend in the beginning called Nalan who she is training to be a Jedi. They are on a planet rich in kyber crystals to build Nalan’s lightsaber, but Nalan is killed by the sorcerer which leads her to joining Kylo.

The sorcerer uses the relic to create Force apparitions of Darth Sidious, Snoke, Luke, and Han to haunt both Rey and Kylo Ren. The apparitions are similar to Rey’s Force-back and the B.A.R.F. technology Tony Stark uses in Civil War.

Kylo becomes his 13 year-old self training with Luke and sees Snoke was corrupting him to fall to the dark side. He also argues with Han. Kylo sees that his anger should not be directed towards his family and sends a message to apologize to Leia.

Rey encounters Luke like she did on Ahch-To but he ignites the light saber instead of throwing it and attacks her. His eyes turn red and she knows that it isn’t really Luke.

When Rey and Kylo overcome their individual challenges, Snoke and Sidious appear together attacking both Rey and Kylo. Rey tells Kylo it’s all in their minds and are able to escape.

Artist unknown.

Rey has three other padawans: Kalina, Ogbor and Zac who along with Rey join Kylo as the Knights of Ren to fight the sorcerer. (The scene with the Knights from Rey’s Force vision in The Force Awakens, the person Rey saw Kylo kill was one of the sorcerer’s acolytes.)

Richard Grant plays Captain Mical, Hux’s rival. Mical is in league with the sorcerer. Hux stays loyal to Kylo since he is the supreme leader and a faction of stormtroopers leave the First Order to follow Mical and the sorcerer.

Finn and Rose strike a truce with Hux leading a stormtrooper rebellion against Captain Mical’s troops. They are also aided by Lando Calrissian’s pirates who join the Resistance between Episodes VIII and IX.

Black squadron.

Poe flies a suicide mission with Black Squadron from the Poe Dameron comic on a Kyber planet that the sorcerer is using a harvester on to drain the kyber crystals of their power to strengthen himself.

Leia is only seen in holograms giving orders and an inspirational speech and talking to Ben Solo through the Force similar to how Rey and Kylo were seen together in their communication sessions in The Last Jedi. She forgives him. At the end Kylo and Rey go their separate ways implying they will have their own adventures in comics or novels.

Fascinating speculation or a legit leak? We would never question the credibility of one of our spies, but the Fake-O-Meter is currently being serviced, so there’s no real way to tell. The bulk of it does seem plausible, especially a Leia hologram providing inspiration for our heroes.

As for the big baddie, could this sorcerer character be “The Ancient Fear” that was rumored to be Episode VII’s original title years ago? Tell us what you think in the comments or on Twitter. We love hearing from the community!
