Lucasfilm Partners With Taco Bell For Star Wars Themed Restaurants
Our credible sources inside Lucasfilm are reporting that something special is in the works for fans of Star Wars and Mexican food. In an attempt to appease the fandom, Kathleen Kennedy has made an unprecedented move as president of Lucasfilm.
With Star Wars fan satisfaction at an all-time low and interest in the sequel trilogy waning, Kennedy has formed an unlikely alliance with the popular fast food chain Taco Bell for the first time since their brief team-ups in 1997 and 1999 to promote the original trilogy special editions and Episode I: The Phantom Menace respectively.
A select number of Taco Bell locations across the nation will be converting their name and signage to Taco Donna — a play on the name Takodana, a fictional green planet first seen in The Force Awakens. Kennedy hopes the new branding will inspire the taco brand’s clientele to support Star Wars.
The expansive redesign will see the iconic bell logo replaced with an image of Maz Kanata holding a taco in her hand.
“With Maz Kanata, how can you go wrong?” Kennedy said during an interview. “I think kids of all ages are going to love Taco Donna’s great food, atmosphere, and of course, its connection to Star Wars.”
