George Lucas Spotted Working as Walmart Greeter
SAN ANSELMO, CALIFORNIA – It seems George Lucas has gotten bored with retirement after selling the Star Wars franchise and Lucasfilm to the Walt Disney Company. So what is the maker doing now you ask? He has taken employment at his local Walmart Super Center a greeter.
Mr. Lucas was seen greeting guests and shoppers at the San Anselmo Walmart on Park Street.
“Yeah I saw George Lucas down at our Walmart on Sunday sitting at the door and wearing the blue vest. My kid Sammy asked him for his autograph, and to my surprise, George complied and signed our Walmart ad that came in the mail.”
–Marin County resident, Riley Black.
It seems Mr. Lucas would visit Walmart on his weekly grocery runs, which eventually grew to encompass multiple days a week. Manager Reggie Edwards would find the legendary filmmaker just sitting in the food court for hours by himself.
“Seemed like the guy was just lonely, and I had no idea he was the director of those old movies from the early 2000’s until after I offered him a job. He just comes and goes as he pleases. It’s just nice to help the elderly by giving them a place to work. Oh, and make sure you tell him you enjoy the memes his movie made famous.”
–San Anselmo Walmart manager, Reggie Edwards.
UPDATE: It seems after we visited the San Anselmo Walmart, Mr. Lucas quit his job because people were hounding him for free autographs. However, our sources say he did get a job at the local Jack in the Box restaurant. YOU DIDN’T HEAR IT FROM US!
