Rian Johnson Reveals His All-Time Favorite Star Wars Character & Film
The Last Jedi writer-director Rian Johnson has finally gone on record in regard to his all-time favorite Star Wars character and Star Wars film. Go ahead and try to guess his favorite character and film. We will wait for you. Okay, do you have a guess? Well, you’re probably right. Read on to confirm!
As it turns out, Johnson’s all-time favorite character in any Star Wars film is none other than Rose Tico, portrayed by the lovely Kelly Marie Tran! Yes that’s, right Johnson loves the quirky Resistance technician more than any other character. Even more than Luke Skywalker, Mon Mothma, Lando Calrissian, R2-D2, Obi-Wan Kenobi, the Rancor, Sheev Palpatine, Leia Organa, Max Rebo, Dexter Jettster, Yoda, and the Maker George Lucas’ personal favorite Jar Jar Binks combined!
Johnson made this declaration during an interview for his upcoming film Knives Out in France overheard by FSW Europe. Johnson went on to give a shout-out to Kelly Marie Tran, praising her great work ethic and personality. Additionally he asked Tran to return his calls because he misses her.
“The Last Jedi is my favorite movie, and of course Rose Tico is my favorite character. Kelly Marie did a fantastic job. She’s cute as a button, too. Kelly, call me!”

Johnson’s not the only one smitten by Tran. We’re told J.J. Abrams is equally fond of the wildly popular Asian-American, who rocketed to fame after being bullied off Instagram.
