Jedi: Fallen Order Mission Involves Protecting Jar Jar Binks
This year’s Electronics Entertainment Expo (E3) has already given Star Wars fans plenty to look forward to, but some of the reveals have left some people scratching their heads. Our on the ground correspondent at E3 was able to briefly chat with a writer for Jedi: Fallen Order from Respawn Entertainment, where we learned a mission in the game will involve escorting Jar Jar Binks and keeping him out of harm’s way from Imperial forces on Naboo.
Paul Perez of Respawn elaborated on his favorite mission in the game that would provide some big fan service.
“At one point in the game Saw Gerrera will send the player to Naboo to protect Jar Jar [Binks] and Sio Bibble as the Imperial garrison attacks Theed. There’s an item in Theed that belongs to the Emperor and he wants it back but the stormtroopers just start trashing everything. Jar Jar and Sio are important to the foundations of the Rebel Alliance and if they die, the Rebellion may never properly form.”
–Paul Perez, Respawn Entertainment
This is certainly a departure from Legends canon where Jar Jar Binks and Sio Bibble have nothing to do with the formation of the Rebellion. This is big news for fans of Gungans and communications disruptions, but other Star Wars fans are confused.
“Jar Jar? Bibble? Why?! I’ll stick to Fortnite.”
— Star Wars fan and “journalist” Spencer Grant, 13 of Billings, Texas
That’s not all in terms of Star Wars at E3 though, as it was also announced LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will be released sometime next year and will feature all new levels to explore based on scenes and events from all 9 main films; from Episode I: The Phantom Menace through Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker. GET HYPED! Gamers rise up!
