Ewan McGregor Signs 12th Contract For Kenobi Solo Project
Hello there! Ewan McGregor has finally signed on to play Obi-Wan Kenobi in a solo series or film! What’s that? You think you’ve heard this news before? Well, you’re not wrong! This is apparently the twelfth time McGregor has signed a contract at Lucasfilm for a rumored Kenobi solo project.
The Scottish-born actor has been going back and forth with Disney since 2015 to play the fan favorite Jedi again. Why you ask? It seems the House of Mouse doesn’t want to pay what McGregor thinks he deserves. Insiders say Kathleen Kennedy and Bob Iger keep low balling him, so McGregor backs out every time.
Will this latest contract be the one to seal the deal? We at Faking Star Wars hope so. One of Jacen’s cousins is actually cousins with one of McGregor’s cousins so we reached out to him for a comment.
“Well I’ve only met Ewan once when we were wee little ones at a family reunion in Perth back in 1983. We actually played Star Wars with sticks that afternoon. I believe it was my suggestion to do stick lightsaber fights, which inspired Ewan to audition for the prequels in the 90’s.”

Supposedly cash isn’t the only thing McGregor wanted, he also requested the director’s chair for the project. Sources say the ink is dry on the giant paycheck, so does this confirm McGregor pulled a Jedi mind trick on Kathy to accept his demands? Faking Star Wars says yes. Expect an announcement of an Obi-Wan Kenobi series or movie for Disney+ at D23 later this month!
