Fan Thinks His ‘Dark Rey’ Theory Is Really F***ing Original
BOSTON, MA — Since the D23 special look for The Rise of Skywalker aired this week, fandom has been ablaze. Fans are speculating and theory crafting but most keep saying the same obvious ideas in a social media echo chamber. However, one fan is adamant that his ‘Dark Rey’ idea is super original.
Star Wars theorist Fredrik Thomlinson believes his speculation is right on the money and is proud of its originality. After sharing his theory on Star Wars Speculation subreddit, however, he was flabbergasted by the number of down votes it received.
“They all kept commenting, ‘General Reposti!’ and I have no idea why. No one else has shared a prediction like mine anywhere that I’ve seen. They’re probably just jealous I came up with the idea first.”
Thomlinson did however receive a gift of Reddit Gold from another user but the comment that came with it threw him off. Reddit user TK-69420 was happy to see someone else also shared his point of view.
“Yeah I saw RikThom’s post. He theorizes it’s a Force nightmare that Kylo is having and I had the same idea! Sure it’s low-hanging fruit in the theory tree but no one else is saying it. When someone has the same ideas as me, I always reward them with Reddit Gold, it makes me feel better about myself.”

Thomlinson removed his post 24 hours later after the deluge of ‘General Reposti’ and ‘Your Dark Rey Theory Sucks’ comments. He went on to say that he didn’t regret sharing the theory but he wishes the fan community was more open to hearing what others have to say.
