Kathleen Kennedy Has Not Seen the Star Wars Holiday Special
It’s almost Christmas here on Earth, and a celebrated holiday tradition for nearly all Star Wars fans is to gather the family around the television set, dust off the old VCR, and pop in the fabled VHS tape that’s stored in an old brown paper bag all year round until this special moment. That’s right folks, it’s time for George Lucas’ worst nightmare, the Star Wars Holiday Special. But there’s one self-proclaimed Star Wars fan who has never seen this made for TV ‘movie’ in all it’s cringe-y glory, the president of Lucasfilm herself, Kathleen Kennedy.
FSW sat down with one of Kathleen’s white male secretaries who claims to have allegedly overheard Kennedy talking to Jon Favreau about his proposed Holiday Special he is super keen on making in time for Christmas 2020. Unfortunately we didn’t get any of the details about what Favreau’s Holiday Special will supposedly be like, but we did however find out that Kennedy never saw the original. LIKE, WHOA DUDE!
“Yeah, while J-Favs was talkin’ to K.K. about what he wants to do for a Holiday Special, he was all like, ‘You know what happened in the old one right?’ And K.K. was like, ‘Nah, son. I’ve never watched it.’ Then J-Favs’ mouth dropped straight to the floor like one of those old Bugs Bunny cartoons. Then mine did the same thing, dog!”

When this news spread throughout Star Wars fandom via Snap Chat and Tik-Tok, fans were aghast. How could our president have never seen the Holiday Special? One fan told FSW on Facebook that it’s a rite of passage in his household to be allowed to consume any Star Wars media released after 1977’s A New Hope. Another fan explained that he and his sister looked forward to the special every Christmas season leading up to every Disney-era Star Wars film released in December and will be having a viewing party at his holiday gathering this weekend with family and friends.
