JJ Abrams Accidentally Shows Rise Of Skywalker In Its Entirety in Fortnite
In a very big surprise over the weekend, JJ Abrams appeared in person within the super popular MMO shooter, Fortnite. Abrams set up shop at Risky Reels, Fortnite’s drive-in movie theater, to show an exclusive preview of The Rise of Skywalker when something unexpected happened. The clip ran for 142 minutes — the full runtime of Episode IX, essentially giving the world a free ticket to the movie. WHOOPS! There’s likely a Bad Robot or Epic Games intern looking for another internship today.
Luckily, one of our own interns, who happens to be a Fortnite semi-pro, attended the live-stream, and even recorded it, but when everyone gathered around to watch, it turned out to be nearly 3 hours of Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up on repeat.
FSW learned that all illegal streams of the film were changed to the infamous Rick Roll via JJ’s son Henry Abrams, who used the hacking skillz he learned from watching Mr. Robot on USA Network.
So unfortunately, we were unable to share any details regarding The Rise of Skywalker from Fortnite, but StormDuper, Teeb, and IG-69 did time travel to tonight’s premier and recorded their thoughts for FSW Radio.
