Meghan Markle Cast As Ahsoka Tano In Kenobi Series
From Buckingham Palace to Tatooine — it appears the Duchess of Sussex has landed a plum role in the forthcoming Disney Plus series following Obi-Wan Kenobi.
According to FSW sources, before officially “stepping back” from their roles as senior royals, Prince Harry and Princess Meghan began to make calls to high powered Hollywood friends in order to secure financial independence from the Queen. Among those they phoned was none other than Disney CEO Bob Iger, who leapt at the chance to lend a helping hand.
We’re told Prince Harry initially pitched the idea of having his wife do some voiceover work for an upcoming Disney animated feature. Apparently Iger was so impressed with Princess Meghan’s body of work, he insisted the Princess take a more substantial role in an equally high-profile project.
Our sources believe Merkle has landed the role of fan-favorite Ahsoka Tano in the Obi-Wan Kenobi live action show. The Princess is set to appear alongside Ewan McGregor in a handful of episodes. Needless to say, Prince Harry is over the moon by the news.
If you recall, Harry and Iger met when the Duke and his brother William filed cameo scenes for Star Wars: The Last Jedi in 2016. Although the scenes were ultimately cut (because the brothers were deemed too tall to be stormies), Harry and Iger managed to stay in touch over the years.
Rumor has it, Harry even pitched Iger on his uncle Prince Andrew appearing as a scummy bounty hunter. No word on whether that will come to fruition though.
