Ewan McGregor: Kenobi Show Not Delayed, From A Certain Point Of View

The star of the forthcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi live action project has confirmed to FSW that its release date has not changed at all. Ewan McGregor spoke to us at a Birds of Prey media event, and hand waved away the rumors of production delays and lackluster scripts.

“Look, the release date was never made public to begin with. So whether the show comes out next week or next year, it’s still technically never been delayed… from a certain point of view,” said McGregor with a mischievous grin on his face.

When asked about rumors that the project is being retooled due to similarities with The Mandalorian, the actor laughed and said, “Yes, both projects are focused on straight white guys, and that’s one too many in current year! Jokes aside, I would like to point out that Obi-Wan does not wear a helmet, and Baby Luke will not be a $5 million dollar puppet, although that would be hilariously creepy.”

McGregor also said that if the highly anticipated Disney Plus show somehow morphs into a film… well then, you could call him out if he pretends everything had proceeded as planned.

“Now that would be a lie, from any point of view.”
