Star Wars Manages To Get An Oscar On Stage

HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA — Despite being shut out of statues in three categories, Disney was celebrating a huge win for Star Wars this morning.

“We got an Oscar [Isaac] on stage and that’s a huge win for us… and for people of color throughout the galaxy. The achievement also represented the first Oscar held by Salma Hayek on stage as well, and we couldn’t be more thrilled for them both. They looked like our Latinx Han Solo and Princess Leia. So much slay,” said Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy.

Disney CEO Bob Iger applauded the achievement as well, adding that a Best Supporting Actress win for Laura Dern in Marriage Story will also be regarded as a victory for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

“Everyone and everything that touches Star Wars — even tangentially — turns to Oscar gold. It’s an amazing time to be a fan of cinema and Disney Star Wars,” said Iger.
