Hackers Zoombomb Disney Shareholder Call With Prequel Memes

Disney has become the latest victim of “Zoombombing” — coordinated attacks by hackers who prey on large gatherings held on the videoconferencing app.

According to our sources, Disney Chief Executive Bob Iger’s private shareholder meeting was interrupted by a series of Star Wars prequel memes broadcast by a user named Sifo-Dyas.

“About an hour into the emergency meeting, a video of Sio Bibble interrupted Bob to announce a communications disruption… which then led to a rapid montage of hundreds of memes… Bob couldn’t stop it although he tried his best to keep order, even laughing at a few of the image macros,” said a source within the Mouse House.

The Zoombombing went on for 15 minutes before shareholders realized what was happening, and began dropping off the call en masse. Disney has yet to issue a public statement on the matter, but we predict they will no longer be using Zoom for video conferences.

“It could have been much worse, all things considered. I mean, imagine if they had used Star Wars sequel memes,” said our source.

For Disney, the Zoombombing caps off one of the worst weeks in recent history as stocks fell yet again after an analyst said Disney parks may not reopen until next year due to COVID-19.
