Ja Rule Films Wacky Commercial For Dex’s Diner
Legendary rapper Ja Rule is once again making waves throughout the Star Wars fandom. Following his memorable hosting gig at our very own Parking Lot Celebration 2018, the superstar has parlayed his nerd fame into a series of wacky commercials in support of local businesses impacted by Covid-19. His first ad for Papa Cristo’s Greek Grill in LA immediately went viral, so Ja is setting his sights on helping intergalactic eateries as well. The 44-year-old performer’s next no-budget commercial will help promote Dex’s Diner, a retro-inspired restaurant located in CoCo Town on the planet Coruscant.
Ja sent us a rough cut of the minute-long ad and it’s every but as entertaining as you’d imagine. “Dex’s Diner got the best motherf—ing Jawa Juice you ever f—ing had in your life! S–t is so good!” the rapper says in the expletive-laden clip.
Wearing a black “I heart Coruscant” T-shirt, the Queens-born rapper appears superimposed over scenes set at Dex’s Diner, trying his best to pronounce some of the local dishes.
“Shawra on Therma, Sic-Six Layer Cake, Photon Fizzle. You can’t even pronounce this s—t, it’s so go**amn good!” he says when suddenly multiple Jas appear onscreen and begin doing a traditional dance familiar to residents of CoCo Town.
Star Wars fans will be happy to know the commercial features cameos by Dex himself, along with his waitresses Hermione Bagwa and FLO, the iconic WA-7 droid. We won’t spoil whether or not a certain Force-sensitive bearded friend of Dex’s appears in the clip. You’ll just have to wait until it debuts.
