Lucasfilm Employee Bombarded By Fanboys After Tweeting Pic of His Breakfast
Early this morning, Lucasfilm Story Group member Matt Martin tweeted a photo of what he was having for breakfast, and the post quickly became his biggest regret of the week. What started as a simple run of the mill Tweet for Martin turned into a speculation smackdown within the Star Wars fandom as neckbeards, EU stans, and clickbait writers furiously discussed what the photo meant for the future of the film franchise.
“I just wanted to share my morning with my followers,” said Martin via Twitter DM with an FSW correspondent. “I wasn’t expecting everyone to assume it was a cryptic message about Star Wars.”
The photo in question was of blueberry flavored Magic Spoon cereal which led many fans to assume Grand Admiral Thrawn would be making his live action debut soon. While this isn’t baseless speculation as the revered blue-skinned alien was name dropped in a recent episode of The Mandalorian and was the subject of a recent leak we published, taking Martin’s harmless photo of a healthy and nutritious breakfast cereal as confirmation that Thrawn is coming sooner rather than later is simply ludicrous.
Martin has since deleted the tweet but the replies keep coming in.
“I should probably follow Pablo’s lead and make my account private,” Martin added. “It would give me some much needed peace of mind.”
So what do you think? Was his breakfast pic a hint of what’s to come in Star Wars or simply shilling for Magic Spoon, hoping for a sponsorship deal? Let us know in the comments below.
